The UK’s annual celebration of cycling takes place starts on 8th June and runs on until 14th June.

Run by Cycling UK for more than 100 years, Bike Week is the UK’s biggest celebration of cycling and a chance to show how cycling can make everyday life better for people and communities across the country.

Free Bike Week cycling sessions for Whitehall staff


To mark Bike Week 2026, the Bikeability Trust is offering free cycling taster sessions for Whitehall officials on Wednesday 10th June.


Open to all abilities, sessions include:

  • Beginner-friendly, traffic-free cycling

  • Guided urban rides to build road confidence

  • Free Dr Bike safety checks and minor repairs


No cycle? No problem – cycles and helmets can be provided.

The Cross Government Cycling Network has loads of things going on over bike week. Why not join their knowledge hub

Step 1: Sign up to Khub for free (using your gov.uk email)

Step 2: Follow link to Civil Service Cycling Network page

Step 3: Request access to group - please use the information box to share where you are based.

Step 4: hit ‘subscribe’ to get notified of new content on the site by clicking the 3 dot menu on the right of the page and clicking 'subscribe'!
