TENPIN BOWLING

Confused by your spares and strikes? Wondering what a four-bagger is? Whether you're an experienced bowler or have never picked up a bowling ball in your life, the SPARTA Tenpin Bowling Club is the perfect place to learn, improve your game, and enjoy a great social evening with colleagues.

Based at the AMF Bowl in Lewisham, the club enjoys an excellent location close to the mainline station, with easy access from Victoria, Waterloo East, London Bridge, and Charing Cross. It is an ideal venue for members travelling from across London and the South East.

A Friendly and Welcoming Club

The club prides itself on being a small, friendly, and inclusive group of bowlers with a wide range of abilities. Some members are highly accomplished players who have enjoyed success in competitions such as the Corporate Games and Civil Service Tenpin Bowling Championships, while others simply come along for the enjoyment of the game and the social atmosphere.

Whatever your experience level, you'll find a warm welcome and plenty of encouragement.

When Do We Play?

The club meets every Wednesday evening from 7.30pm to 9.00pm, providing a regular opportunity to unwind after work, enjoy some friendly competition, and meet fellow bowlers from across Government.

Club Competitions

The club's main league season runs from September through to May, with members competing in teams of two. The format is designed to provide enjoyable competition throughout the season while maintaining the friendly spirit that makes the club such a success.

Depending on membership numbers, the club also runs:

• A summer league competition.

• Knockout cup competitions.

• Friendly matches and special events.

• Charity bowling tournaments and fundraising activities.

There are plenty of opportunities throughout the year to get involved, whether you are looking for regular competitive play or occasional participation.

New Bowlers Always Welcome

The club is always keen to welcome new members. Whether you are looking to bowl every week or simply want to be available as a reserve when regular players are away, there is a place for you within the club.

No previous experience is necessary. Our league system uses handicaps to ensure that bowlers of different abilities can compete on an equal footing, making matches enjoyable and competitive for everyone.

Learn and Improve

New bowlers need not worry about their level of experience. The club's more experienced players are always happy to share advice, coaching tips, and guidance to help newer members improve their technique and confidence.

Many members find that bowling is a fantastic way to improve concentration, develop new skills, enjoy some friendly competition, and build lasting friendships with colleagues.
